Dr. Joel is a sought after international facilitator of change, learning and improvement - always with an eye on implementation and results for his many and varied corporate, government and individual clients via his open or bespoke initiatives.
As Dean, he plays a critical leadership role within the university, overseeing the academic and strategic direction of the business unit. His responsibilities here include Academic Leadership & Curriculum Development, Accreditation, Strategic Planning & Managing as well as Faculty Management & Development. In addition responsibilities include the design and delivery of several MBA modules including Creating Strategy, Leadership and Strategic HR Transformation. EIU-Paris is ASIC (UK) accredited, holds a 5 star QS rating and was ranked at 50 in the latest CEO World Business School rankings.
He also holds the position of Managing Partner with KF&A Consulting designing and delivering a range of programmes related to Human Capital Development and Transformation, (where he is a proven leader in the field), provided through a number of partnerships worldwide.
He previously enjoyed a 12 year career with the British Government (6 in Leadership Development) and a 22-year international Learning and HR career with HSBC, predominantly in the APAC and MENA regions including roles such as:
- Global Head of Talent, Learning and ODD (Covering 74 countries - all business lines)
- Head of HR for Thailand, India and MENA (The letter covering 14 countries - all business lines)
- Asia Pacific Training Adviser (12 countries - all business lines)
He has worked in 46 countries, with 55+ nationalities and a range of corporate and government institutions and individuals across numerous industries.
In both his permanent and consulting roles he has significant time in, and experience of, working with CEOs and Top Teams developing global, regional and local senior players and Human Capital resources to deliver impactful, progressive results and services to international standards - often from a start point of “transformation urgently required!” - where the VUCA world demanded fast paced responses.
For government and business customers alike his focus has been on identification, development and progression of high quality leadership talent on the human capital side. The predominant focus remains on improving services that impact sustaining competitive advantage and business success - via Strategic Advice & Counsel, Performance, Rewards, OD and Talent Management. Emphasis also on the creation of appropriate key human and business metrics to track progress and identify/action further improvement steps required.
Latterly AI and predictive analytics have become an increasing part of the human capital management landscape with use increasing as transformation progresses. Essentially has fulfilled a primary role as an agent and facilitator of change with an eye always on the output and impact of proposed and implemented improvements.
Aided by his significant international, multi-cultural and multi industry exposure, he has become a sought-after Leadership and human capital adviser across the APAC, MENA and increasingly AFRICAN regions and beyond.
Whether as a guest speaker, programme facilitator, working with in-house teams or coaching 1:1; his incisive views of effective leadership and human capital management combined with his counsel as to how this can be best achieved continue to be requested from new and repeat clients alike.
In addition to his DBA in Strategic Human Capital Management, and his MA in Management Learning, he holds Chartered Fellow status with CIPD and has had the benefit of significant personal development at such institutions as Michigan Business School and Roffey Park. He is accredited in the use of a number of assessment and development tools including De Bono’s Six Thinking Hats, OPQ, PAPI and Myers-Briggs.
